MANUFACTURING OF PLASTIC BAGS Operator is in charge of running and overseeing the full functions of the converting machine process of product manufacturing. They also remove the bundles of the finished goods and place wickets (metal pins) and then pack product in carton boxes and label the boxes of finished merchandise. Operator also constantly revises plastic bags as they are being manufactured for density, texture, resistance, correct size, print defects, and all other customer product specifications. Operator also makes minor machine adjustments like moving certain buttons to adjust the bag lip and also make adjustments to machine pins. They are also responsible to fill out required production worksheets and maintain work area clean by sweeping and picking up trash from the floor that is being produced by the machine. Position requires standing, walking side to side approximately a 4 foot radius, bending, pulling, and stretching occasionally with both hands. Jewelry Jewelry is not allowed around moving machinery or when performing warehouse functions: ? No earrings ? No facial piercings of any kind and/or any visible body piercing ? No rings of any kind on the face ? No wrist watches ? No bracelets of any kind ? No hand jewelry ? No glass or plastic faced watches are allowed ? No chains or necklaces ? No rings including plain wedding bands Hearing Protection ? Hearing protection must be worn in all times in Departments that have a noise level of 85dd or higher which are: Extrusion, Press, Converting, Target and Mesh ? Mercury Plastics, Inc. will provide hearing protection Nails ? Fingernails should be short and clean ? Long nails are not allowed ? No fake nails ? No nail polish Shirt pockets ? Shirts that have a pocket above the waist line will not be allowed ? No pens or pencils in the shirt pockets are allowed Make Up ? No false eyelashes allowed ? No glitter ? No makeup will be allowed “AT ALL” in the plant (any production areas, and warehouse). This applies to all employees and any visitors, contractors and office employees walking into the facility.
