We are looking to fill a machine operator position in the Gainesville area.
Position: Machine Operator
Pay: $19.50hr
Schedule: 2nd shift 8pm-8am (continental shift rotation)
MACHINE OPERATION FUNCTIONS:
- Read, follow, and set-up order using the Production Order, Order Instructions, Specifications, and Recipe (if applicable), and any other information that may be pertinent to meeting the customer’s requirements.
- Move a mother roll into position on the Winder.
- Thread the Winder/Rewinder.
- Operate the hot wire splicing system at the Rewinder.
- Properly calculate and setup rewinder shaft.
- Operate Rewinder and maintain thorough knowledge of rewinder controls and settings. Able to make necessary adjustments to correct minor slitting, folding or creasing issues.
- Demonstrate the ability to setup and change the Rewinder knives (male and counter knife).
- Able to calculate order completion time
- Package and wrap rolls per customer specifications.
- Offload rolls and place in the warehouse using the forklift with roll clamp attachment.
- Operate the vertical and horizontal wrapper, reload film, and adjust tension.
- Accurately operate the core cutter including changing the mandrel from 3” to 6”.
- Operate the bale press.
- Mark "blow-outs" on the mother roll and assist with blowout resolution / string up.
- Assist with handling the fiber during string-ups (blow-outs or start-ups).
- Assist with clearing flap chokes during string-ups.
- Operate the waste recovery system on the Winder (Line 1).
- Operate the trim exhaust system on the Rewinder.
- Operate the cable hoist system to move mother roll shafts.
- Assist making product changes and understand the product change process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to do simple math, read, write, and read a tape measure; job competence will be determined during 90 day trial period in accordance with New Hire Training program.
- Must be comfortable operating a computer and have basic knowledge / skills. On the job training will be provided for ATEX’s specific software requirements.
- Must be capable of working an assigned 12-hour Continental shift. (Night shift 8:00pm – 8:00am / Day Shift 8:00am – 8:00pm). Must be capable of working before shift, after shift and/or off-days as needed.
- Must be capable of supporting maintenance / cleaning shutdowns, as well as unexpected shutdowns.
- Must have good communication skills with the ability to learn quickly and to pay attention to detail.
- Must be dependable and have a reliable means of transportation.
