Company Overview: 

Our client produces an extensive line in house of fine home lighting, furniture, and outdoor accessories. Our client located in Doraville is looking for a Receiving Technician.


Shift Schedule:  Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm


Pay: $19 to $ $20 per hour (Temp to hire)


Location: Doraville, GA


Summary


Under the direction of the Receiving Manager, the Receiving Technician is primary responsible for participation in the unloading process of products from incoming containers.   Unloading process includes opening products for QC inspection, repacking, counting, scanning, moving products from receiving floor to designated location. Be able to be a primary user of the Scanforce scanning system and be able to understand the daily flow of product through the warehouse. Secondary responsible will be developing skills outside of the department in order to shift to areas outside of the Receiving Department when container volume is low.  


Duties:


Daily Flow of Product-Incoming Containers:

  • Assist in the constant flow of product from incoming containers which includes unloading process, opening items for QC inspections, repacking items after QC inspect. 
  • Count, scan and moving items to the appropriate locations (FG Staging, shades, PD, Parts and Bases area)
  • Be able to use a pallet jack on a daily basis and be open to learning how to drive various types of lifts


Receiving Team:

  • Working closely with the receiving team, inventory put away team, and other departments


Cross-training 

  • Through training, obtain skills to work in a non-Receiving Department when container volume is low or if another department is experiencing a bottleneck in the work flow.


Technology and Systems

  • Become familiar with all IT systems and platforms.  Includes MAS, ScanForce, 
  • Ensure scanning system, ScanForce, is being properly utilized for product flowing in/out of the Receiving Area


Inventory Control

  • Assist in ensuring an accurate inventory of product on the Receiving floor. 
  • Conduct regular cycle counts on Receiving Locations
  • Assist in Year End Physical Inventory


Plant Maintenance

  • participate in the 5S program
  • Assist in maintaining the upkeep of all warehouse equipment and maintain cleanliness in the warehouse


Health and Safety:

  • Foster awareness to all company personnel concerning issues involving the health and safety of all Currey & Company employees.


General:

  • Reading – Must be able to read English for the purpose of comparing product descriptions for received products to product orders.  
  • Writing – Ability to record inventory counts and write the necessary information English
  • Mathematics – Fundamental knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and basic division.   Must also be able to count and record numbers.
  • Forklift use is preferred; however, training will be provided if necessary.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Prior warehouse environment experience
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
